Branded podcasts are super-smart longterm marketing tools, rapidly growing in popularity. Comedy and drama podcasts are unbeatable pieces of off-screen escapism to lose yourself in.

In lockdown 2020 I began working with some brilliant writer/performers to help turn their stage shows into nicely crafted audio pieces with bespoke sound design and composition. The first in the series is "Delphine" by Clare Pointing - click here to listen and read more.

I also work on podcasts for businesses.

I edit and produce podcasts for different people. Those people generally fall into one of two categories: those who have no idea how to start a podcast but are interested in starting one, and those who have done it before but are looking for someone new to work with.

No idea how to start but interested?

I can help you to advise a good way to start, get set up, and record remotely together. I can leave you to it, or I can sit on the recording during the interview to guide you through and introduce myself to your guests as a producer. I then gather the files together to edit them. This involves a lot of cutting, splicing, sticking-back-togethering, then polishing the audio with EQ, compression and various other tools, to make it sound as good as possible on all devices. I also add royalty free music (sometimes I write it myself) and any sound design required. At this stage I check you're happy with the edit, before finalising the files and delivering them in the right format for you.

I will asses the time it'll take to edit a package of 5 or 10 podcast episodes, and quote accordingly.

Done it before but looking for someone new?

Some people have podcast experience already, and are just looking to find someone new to work with to pull it together, or to ease the workload. If that's the case, let me know what experience you've had so far, and what direction you'd like to try now. Knowing some reference podcasts for your desired new style would be helpful, and I can get involved in the strategy and planning of how to improve things if that's useful.

Get in touch to chat about what we can do and how it might work.
I use Logic Pro X to edit my podcasts, alongside RX7 and other pieces of Izotope wizardry.  I usually recommend Anchor for distribution as it is free and easy.
