Hi, I’m Ben. I'm a creative producer, helping to make cultural projects come to life. I'm also a composer of music for films, adverts, documentaries, theatre, fun and money. I also have experience producing and editing podcasts. I use the pronouns He / Him. I'm currently Creative Producer for Serious helping to make all kinds of cultural things happen, including the EFG London Jazz Festival. 

-Music-

I create music in all sorts of styles. Minimalist piano and strings to bring a tear to the eye, upbeat bangers to kick off a campaign, quirky character pieces that cause an unexpected smile. Whatever you’re looking for, I really enjoy getting stuck into briefs with a little bit of something different.

I studied classical piano at the Royal Northern College of Music (first class honours, Principal’s prize winner, nearly went mad), and I’ve spent fifteen+ years of gigging in indie joints and folk clubs and learning studio production. I have two obsessive ears and just the right amount of self-doubt to be artistically legitimate.

Mostly I work out of my home studio on the East coast with my ‘rescue piano’ and a whole load of other instruments, microphones and noise-making things, but I’ve also got plenty of experience working with live musicians and engineers in larger studio settings.

-Podcasts-

I have helped launch, produce and edit various podcasts including branded podcasts, comedy and drama. I can help advise how to record remotely, and can edit your chats down to nicely polished audio content. I'll most likely want to write some music for it too. During lockdown in 2020 I started working with amazing writer/performers to turn their stage shows into audio pieces.  Click the "Podcasts" tab for more info. 

-Production-

I have worked as a creative producer, stage manager and project manager for cultural events, mostly jazz and classical music but also cross genre productions and community-led co-creation. I can help bring a project together and love a challenge. Recent clients include Barbican, Ronnie Scotts, Serious and the EFG London Jazz Festival. A highlight of 2021 was my role as Creative Producer for Fellowship Square, working for London Borough of Waltham Forest. Click the "Production" tab for more info.
